The Massey University School of Aviation is the aviation school of Massey University, based at Palmerston North Airport in New Zealand. It delivers the Bachelor of Aviation degree with an integrated air transport pilot training pathway.
Massey's aviation program began in 1987 as the Massey Aviation Institute with 28 students and now operates from a purpose-built aviation complex at Palmerston North Airport, a controlled airfield with full air traffic control services; a $5 million, 2,200 square-metre aviation centre opened in 2019. Its Bachelor of Aviation combines university study with CAA-regulated flight training toward commercial airline pilot qualifications. The school operates a fleet of technically advanced Diamond aircraft, with around 12 single-engine DA40 trainers and two twin-engine DA42 aircraft for the air transport pilot qualification. It is one of New Zealand's leading university-based pilot training providers.
